Please join our efforts to
ban duck hunting.

During duck hunting season, we routinely take in
ducks who have been maimed by hunters.

It's bad enough that people shoot these precious birds.
Making it even worse is the sad fact that many birds are struck by shotgun pellets
but not killed outright,
and die slowly and painfully.
These are the birds who we see at WBRT.

Although it is hard to believe that anyone would want to shoot at, kill, and injure
these gentle, beautiful creatures,
duck hunting is so widely accepted that it will be a significant challenge to
change people's minds and official policies.

But we love these birds and have to try!

You can help by being an advocate for ducks.
Spread the word about the devastating effects of duck hunting.

Please also see this information from SAFE about action you can take.

Thank you!

This sweet Paradise Shelduck is one of the gunshot victims brought in to WBRT last season.

We named her Honey. ❤️

She was shot but was not killed instantly:
instead, this shooting led to
a broken leg and
an injured wing...

and she was then left to suffer and die slowly and in great pain.

Luckily she was found and brought to us for care.
Too many are not so lucky.
