☞ Can you provide a home for sweet little
Iggy the Rooster
🐓and his good pal Dale???🐓

Iggy (his full name is Iguana!) was originally in our care receiving treatment for a head injury. He was attacked by another chicken when he was only a week or two old. 😔

Iggy has been residing here for several months and is a truly charming fellow! He has now becomes buddies with Dale, another Rooster who showed up out of nowhere and has since been showing Iggy the ways of life as a Roo! We are not 100% sure about their specific breeds but know they are beautiful and bold!

But now we'd like to find little Iggy and his pal Dale a home of their own, where they will get lots of love. ❤️

☞ They need a home where owning roosters is legal, and even more importantly, a home where they will be treated well and NOT used for food, or dumped later down the track!

If you think you can provide these sweet boys a home, please contact us via the Contact Us page, by email at info@wbrt.org.nz, or through our Facebook page.

We have many Marvelous Muscovy boys
who need homes!

We have many fabulous male Muscovy Ducks looking for homes.
They have so much character and personality!

It can be difficult for us to find the very best homes for these boys, as sometimes their new "forever" homes turn out to be temporary 😢, or
these birds are used in ways we do not approve of! 😠

As we spend a great deal of time caring for, rehabilitating, and respecting these animals, we will ONLY rehome to people who would like to keep them as pets.

We also find that people have concerns about these ducks breeding, and if this happens, the result is usually more ducks in need of new homes.
In order to avoid this issue, we prefer to rehome these ducks without any females.

If you think you can provide any of these marvelous boys a home, please contact us via the Contact Us page, by email at info@wbrt.org.nz, or through our Facebook page.

Noddy Has a New Home!!

Poor Noddy the Pilgrim Goose! 😔

After spending a few days staring at his reflection in a car, Noddy has been reflecting on his life here at Wellington Bird Rehab.

The time has come for this gorgeous goose to find a new loving forever home...
☞ Perhaps with you??

Special Silky Boys are Home!

Two handsome Silkie Roosters require a new, FOREVER home!

These two brothers are about 12 months old and were hand raised. They are tame and easy to handle. Silkie roosters have a very calm and friendly temperament. One attraction of this breed is their overall look...with their funky looking 'fro' and beautiful silky, soft feathers! They are small in size, and a pleasure to have around.

Urgent Gorgeous Goose Alert!

As you may have heard, Western Springs have around 100 geese that they want removed, and we hope to help provide them with safe forever homes.

Not only do we want to save these geese from being culled, but we also know of 9 others in the Whanganui region who urgently need homes. We've had other requests from people needing to rehome geese, and we already have 2 at WBRT who need homes.

Safe to say, many forever homes for geese are needed as soon as possible!

Beautiful Blueberry and Micah are home!

Blueberry and Micah were found as young ducks, in separate locations. Coincidentally, they had similar mobility issues and arrived on the same day; we mixed them together while they were being rehabilitated.

Since recovering, we have had them together and would love to see them rehomed together! Both likely males, but get along well!

Gorgeous Jo has found a home!

Success story!
Jo came to us after being attacked by a predator, with wounds so severe that she was unable to walk or feed herself. 😢

She was with us for almost three months, through supportive care, stabilization, medication, vet visits, and intense rehabilitation. Her wounds have healed up, she has been running, flapping her wings and overall, is full of life and energy again!
While it was a very slow rehab it was definitely a successful one!

Beautiful Boots...has been rehomed!

Boots is a gorgeous White Indian Runner duck who was hand raised and imprinted on humans. She was rehomed to us in hopes we could mix her with ducklings and teach her to be wild. However, we have found that Boots doesn't want to be too wild! She only thrives and remains healthy and happy when she spends part of her time in an aviary, where she can get regular good feeds and warmth from nesting boxes at night.

Boots needs to find a good home where she can be safely and warmly housed at night, and is able to roam free during the day. She is a sweet soul and deserves the best home!

Meet Mike...he's found a home!!

Handsome Mike has been waiting for his perfect home longer than most now.
He is quick and small but full of character! Mike is adamant on ruling over any other Rooster he encounters despite his small size, therefore we are set on finding a forever home where he is the sole male (and can own a 'King' title 👑 😂)

Please note that any potential home will need to be rooster-appropriate and also be a FOREVER home!

Mrs. Mike 😉...she's home at last!!

This lovely lady is also looking for a home!

She's a Brown Shaver hen (currently laying), and she is available to be rehomed with Mike. They are housed together at the moment and seem to be getting along quite well!

Please note that any potential home will need to be chicken-appropriate and also be a FOREVER home!
